GCash app: set up and verify

GCash says every new account starts as a Basic profile. A Basic profile can pay bills, scan to pay, cash in and buy load, though it can receive money only; sending is closed. Fully Verified opens sending, bank transfer, online payments and more.

  1. Get the app from your phone’s own store and register with your mobile number.
  2. Under Profile, tap Verify Now, press Get Started and read the reminders.

Signed out, the PH90 lobby does not name GCash, and it names no payment method at all. The app promotion asks you to bind an e-wallet or a bank account, which is where a wallet like GCash would come in. GCash, for its part, rejects the gaming-app label. The BSP memo (M-2025-029) made it strip gaming loads and payouts out on 16 August 2025.

Moving money without the gaming route

For an ordinary bank transfer GCash uses InstaPay, which it has priced at PHP 10 a transaction from 4 July 2026. You reach it from Transfer, then Local, and pick the bank. GCash can change that fee, so read the fee screen each time before you confirm.

Cards are no use here either: GCash does not accept a debit or credit card for cash-in, so do not hunt for that option. Can I top up a PH90 account from the GCash app?

Do not plan on it. GCash itself says the Games service is gone. From 16 August 2025, licensed gaming gets no loads or payouts through the app. The PH90 lobby does not name GCash in what a signed-out visitor sees.

Must the GCash account be Fully Verified?

GCash lists these IDs for any Filipino aged 18 or over who holds a PH SIM: passport, National ID, UMID, PRC ID, SSS ID, driver's licence, Pag-IBIG Loyalty Plus or a postal ID. It must be the physical card; a photocopy is not accepted, except for the National ID.
