Responsible gaming
Set the number before you start. Everything else on this page follows from that one habit, and no amount of strategy substitutes for it.
Gambling is entertainment with a price, not a way to make money or recover money already lost. The mathematics of every casino product favour the house over time. A good night does not change that, and a bad run does not mean a correction is owed.
Limits that actually hold
A limit works when it is decided in advance, written down, and treated as fixed once play begins.
Set a loss limit per session. Choose what the evening costs before opening anything, the way you would price a night out. When that amount is gone, the session is over — not after one more round.
Set a time limit too. Money limits alone miss how long sessions stretch. Decide the stop time in advance and set an alarm on your phone rather than trusting yourself to notice.
Never deposit to chase a loss. The decision to add funds after losing is made by a different, worse frame of mind than the one that set the original budget. Deposit competitions and leaderboards sharpen that pressure precisely because they reward volume, which is covered in more detail on the PH90 club deposit competitions.
Never gamble with money that is already committed. Rent, tuition, utilities, food and loan repayments are not a bankroll.
Warning signs worth taking seriously
- Playing longer or for more than intended, repeatedly
- Borrowing money, selling possessions or using credit to keep playing
- Hiding the extent of play from family or friends
- Feeling restless or irritable when trying to cut back
- Returning specifically to win back losses
- Play interfering with work, study, sleep or relationships
One of these is worth noticing. Several together is worth acting on.
Where to get help in the Philippines
Help is available and asking for it early is far easier than asking for it late.
National Center for Mental Health Crisis Hotline — 1553 (landline, toll-free nationwide), 0966-351-4518 or 0917-899-8727 (mobile). Staffed 24 hours.
Gamblers Anonymous Philippines operates meetings in several cities and online. Its meeting directory is the current source for times and locations.
In-Touch Community Services Crisis Line — (02) 8893-7603, for immediate emotional support.
For international resources, GamCare and BeGambleAware both publish free self-assessment tools and self-exclusion guidance that apply regardless of where you play.
Self-exclusion and account limits
Most licensed operators provide deposit caps, session reminders, cooling-off periods and permanent self-exclusion through account settings or support. This guide cannot apply any of those on a reader’s behalf — those controls sit with the operator and must be requested there directly.
Nobody under 21 may gamble in the Philippines. That is a legal minimum, not a guideline.
