Esports betting borrows its vocabulary from other sports, but the unit that matters is the map. A Mobile Legends series is played map by map, and the bet you pick depends on whether you follow the whole series or one game. Get the format wrong and the right team can still lose you the bet.

Regulars do check the format before the odds, because a map handicap means one thing over three maps and another over five.
A worked handicap bet
Take a best-of-three where Team A is -1.5 maps at decimal odds of 2.40, and stake PHP 200. Team A wins the bet only with a 2-0 series, which returns PHP 480: PHP 280 profit plus the stake. A 2-1 win loses the bet even though Team A won the series.
- Read the handicap as a map margin.
- List the possible final scores: 2-0 or 2-1.
- Match the handicap to those scores.
The mirrored bet, Team B at +1.5, wins on any Team B series win and on a 2-1 loss, because B only has to take one map. Betting odds explained covers the price side.
Total maps
A total of 2.5 maps asks whether the series goes to a third map. At decimal 2.40, PHP 200 on over returns PHP 480 if it does. Over means 2-1, under means 2-0. New players often pick a winner and a total on the same series and forget the two are linked: a one-sided series wins the under.
