- With a Malta licence, go to the MGA authorisation portal and search on the company name rather than the brand. A differently named subsidiary is often the licensee — Pragmatic Solutions MT Limited holds Pragmatic Play’s Malta licence, not any entity called Pragmatic Play.
- With a UK licence, search the Gambling Commission public register on the account number. Activities and their start dates appear against an active licence, and any regulatory settlement involving the holder sits on the same record.
- With a PAGCOR EGLD listing, locate the studio’s approved-games PDF on pagcor.ph. Look at what is being approved: game content for licensed operators. Where the document is silent on the studio holding a licence, no licence is held.
- With an RTP figure, go to the studio’s own page for that particular title. Absent there, no comparison site can supply it — and two comparison sites disagreeing is itself the finding.
The thing most often got wrong here
What matters most here is telling a PAGCOR operator licence apart from a PAGCOR EGLD listing. An EGLD listing records PAGCOR approving a studio’s game content for use by operators it licenses. No licence is held by the studio, and nothing is said about a casino carrying those games.
Of the seven studios below, four have that and nothing more. Their pages say so plainly, because one word separates “PAGCOR listed” from “PAGCOR licensed” and an enormous distance separates what they mean — and it is the second that a reader usually hopes to have found.
